The Galley - Senior Meal Program
The Galley is a senior meal program, providing nutritious meals to seniors 60 and over and other qualifying individuals. We serve meals in house and are open to the public. We also deliver meals to homebound seniors and other qualified individuals who live in Barre City, Barre Town, and other surrounding areas.
Currently, we are serving over 125 meals daily and over 40,000 meals annually. Our meals meet the Federal Older Americans Act guidelines in terms of portions and nutritional content. Our mission is to provide nutritious meals to homebound seniors and other qualified individuals keeping them in their own homes and out of nursing home care.
The Galley is located in the lower level of the Washington Apartments Building in Barre City. This building was formally known as the Old Historic Barre Hotel.
The Galley is owned and operated by the Barre Housing Authority. We contract with the Central Vermont Council on Aging for the Senior Meals Program.
Open Monday - Friday, serving breakfast and lunch in our dining room Breakfast hours 7:30 - 9:15 and lunch 11:00 - 1:00.
